Brenden Scott French
Brenden Scott French is a South Australian artist living and working on Peramangk and Ngadjuri Country in the Barossa Valley. His practice encompasses blown and kiln-formed glass, driven by an ongoing investigation into the material, its physical properties, processes and broader conceptual possibilities.
Since 1997, Brenden has worked extensively across Sydney, Adelaide and Canberra, exhibiting widely throughout Australia and internationally.
His practice has been supported by significant fellowships and residencies. In 2007, he was awarded the Stephen Procter Fellowship, and in 2020 the ArtGroup Creative Fellowship at Canberra Glassworks. His residencies include the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, USA; Northlands Creative Glass Centre in Lybster, Scotland; Canberra Glassworks; and the Australian National University Glass Workshop.
Brenden’s work is held in numerous public and private collections in Australia and internationally, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, USA.
